I am a fan of Donald Miller's book, Building a Sto I am a fan of Donald Miller's book, Building a Storybrand. It came out in 2017, and it played a big role in how I worked on nonprofit campaigns after that.  Nonprofits face unique challenges when it comes to communicating their message and connecting with their audience. They often have limited resources and need to be creative in how they engage with supporters and donors.

"Building a StoryBrand" provides a framework that can be particularly helpful for them. By clarifying their brand message and crafting a compelling story, nonprofits can better engage with their audience and increase their impact.

One of the key takeaways from the book is the importance of positioning the audience as the hero in the nonprofit's story. Nonprofits can use this approach to connect with their supporters and donors on a deeper level, tapping into their emotions and inspiring them to take action.

Yesterday, Donald Miller released a new book: How to Grow Your Small Business: A 6-Step Plan to Help Your Business Take Off.  I'm only a few chapters in, but I can tell this one will be another one I recommend to small business clients who struggle with the business side of what they do.  Miller breaks down the process of growing your business into six manageable steps, providing practical advice and actionable tips along the way. He begins by helping you define your brand and identify your target audience, then moves on to creating a marketing strategy that will help you reach that audience effectively. 

The book also covers the importance of creating a sales funnel, building a team, and optimizing your operations for growth. Throughout the book, Miller emphasizes the importance of staying focused on your goals and maintaining a growth mindset, even in the face of challenges.
